The London Civic Employees’ Credit Union was founded in 1948 as a closed bond credit union for the employees of the City of London. In 2004, the members of London and District School Staffs' Credit Union joined with London Civic, and in 2007 members of Labatt (London) Employees' Credit Union joined, to bring our membership to over 3,850.
- Location – Our office is located at 343 Dundas Street at Waterloo; ATM locations include our main office, and London City Hall.
- Membership – Our membership includes over 3,850 current and retired employees and their families from the City of London, Thames Valley and District School Board, London Hydro, London Police Department, London Fire Department, London Public Works, London Library, Museum London, Dearness Home, London and Middlesex Health Unit, South West Community Care Access Centre, Western Fair and Labatt (London) Brewery.
- Services – We offer a complete range of financial services, including: chequing, savings, and investment accounts, personal loans and mortgages, retirement savings plans and free financial advice.
- Technology – We are at the forefront of banking technology, offering convenient ATM access and secure Online Banking service.
- Secure Deposits – Deposits at London Civic are guaranteed by DICO* up to $100,000.
- Board of Directors – Board members are drawn from and elected by London Civic members at our Annual General Meeting; all members are eligible to stand for nomination.
- Patronage Rebates – As a credit union, London Civic is responsible to its owners, not to a group of stockholders. Our profits are distributed back to our membership through patronage rebates, reduced fees, and enhanced services.
- Community Service – Credit unions are about community. The majority of our members live, work, and contribute right here in the London area. It is our policy to donate 2% of earnings to community projects and organizations like the YMCA Children’s Safety Village and London & District Crime Stoppers.
