London Civics’ Family First Events

London Civics’ inaugural Family First event took place on the evening of Tuesday November 13th at the JLC for a Family Skate night with members of the London Knights. Over 350 people attended the event which ran from 6pm – 9pm and featured a number of fun aspects planned for the families in attendance. The ice in the JLC was open for kids and parents alike to don their skates and enjoy taking a few laps on their home team’s rink with a number of players from the London Knights hockey team. Numerous opportunities for autographs and photos with the players were arranged, door prizes won, and a great amount of fun was had by all.

Guests were asked to bring non-perishable food items for the London Food Bank, and to make donations to the United Way. With London Civics’ offer to donate $5 for each person in attendance and match donations made by members, a total of $4,240 was raised.

Family First Events are sponsored and hosted by London Civic. By hosting Family First Events we want to help support our community, get better acquainted with our members and have a little fun together. Events will happen twice a year at various London locations. We would like your family and colleagues to join London Civic in our Family First Events to just sit back and enjoy the occasion. Family First Events are open to all our Members and their families plus all employees represented by our credit union bond. All employees from the City of London, Thames Valley District School Board, Labatts, London Police, Southwest Community Care Access Centre, London Public Libraries, Dearness Home, Western Fair and Museum London are welcome to attend our Family First Events.
